Themed Reading Challenge 2010

Wendy is hosting the Themed Reading Challenge again this year.  It’s a six-month challenge where she asks us to read at least 5 books linked by a common theme.  My theme is “British Authors”.  Here are a few that I would like to read:  Lindsey Kelk, Elizabeth Noble, Jill Mansell,  Harriet Evans and Miranda Dickinson.

Random Reading ~ 3

My third random read was selected from two library books and two books from my shelves:

  1. The Love of Her Life – Harriet Evans (my book)
  2. Nanny Returns – Emma McLaughlin and Nicola Kraus (library book)
  3. Easy on the Eyes – Jane Porter (my book)
  4. The Professors’ Wives’ Club – Joanne Rendell (library) picked #3:  Easy on the Eyes, which I’ll start reading later this week.

2010 Reading Resolutions Challenge

Jenny at Jenny Loves to Read is hosting her first reading challenge. The 2010 Reading Resolutions Challenge. She writes:

As the name implies, 2010 Reading Resolutions Challenge, it’s basically new year’s resolutions for my reading. They can be anything you would like to accomplish in the coming year in the realm of reading, book blogging, or perhaps personal growth.

  • Create your personal reading resolutions for the upcoming year in a post and link to it to the post about the challenge. If you don’t have a blog, that’s cool too. Post your resolutions and updates in the comments of the post about the challenge.
  • Get started on your resolutions! Once every 2 months, starting on February 15th, Jenny will have a post to check-in and see how everyone is doing. Kind of as a reminder to you to check your own progress.
  • There is no pressure or consequences with this challenge…Jenny views it as a personal growth sort of challenge.

My 2010 Reading Goals:

  1. Read 144 books in 2010.
  2. Write reviews for 80% of the books I read in 2010.
  3. Read at least 75 books from my shelves.
  4. Complete 80% of the challenges I signed up for in 2010.
  5. Limit the number of library books I have checked out at one time.

2010 Pub Challenge

Michelle is hosting the Pub Challenge again in 2010.  The rules are simple:  read a minimum of 10 books published in 2010.  No YA or children’s fiction are allowed.  This is the Pub.  I love reading newly released books, so this challenge is a perfect fit for me.
