What an Animal! Challenge ~ Completed

What an Animal! reading challenge ended on June 30th, so I’m a little late with writing my wrap-up post.  I have to admit, I found this challenge a bit hard to complete.  I wasn’t reading any books with animal titles or animals on the front cover.  About half of the books listed, I didn’t realize they would fit the challenge until after I finished reading and updated my Excel spreadsheet.  I didn’t think I would complete the challenge, but manage to squeeze in the last book days before the challenge ended.  Here’s what I read:

1. Summer Blowout – Claire Cook
2. Dashing Through the Snow – Mary Higgins Clark and Carol Higgins Clark
3. Deadly Advice – Roberta Isleib
4. Asking for Murder – Roberta Isleib
5. The Lost Recipe for Happiness – Barbara O’Neal
6. Being Nikki – Meg Cabot

Winter Reading Challenge

My Two Blessing is hosting the Winter Reading Challenge.  The rules can be found here.  The challenge started on December 21st and will end on March 20, 2009.  My goal is to read at least three books from the list.  I have numerous books to choose from to read in 2009, so I’m thinking I may be a mood reader and do not want to trap myself.

My List:

  1. Good Luck – Whitney Gaskell
  2. No Time for Goodbye – Linwood Barclay
  3. The Host – Stephenie Meyer
  4. The Pre-Nup – Beth Kendrick [review]
  5. Time of My Life – Allison Winn Scotch [review]

Series Challenge Season 3

I found another challenge to join.  The goal is to choose several series that you have previously started and want to finish (you will be up-to-date at the end of this challenge).  You must read at least 4 books.  The challenge is from December 1, 2008 – November 30, 2009.  Details can be found here.

Series to complete:

  • Alison Bergerson (Murder 101) – Maggie Barbieri
  • Flower Shop Mysteries Series – Kate Collins [completed on 03-07-09]
  • Princess Diaries – Meg Cabot [completed on 02-28-09]
  • Queen of Babble – Meg Cabot
  • Shopaholic – Sophie Kinsella [completed on 01-25-09]

Countdown Challenge

Michelle, from 1morechapter, is hosting the Countdown Challenge. The rules are simple:

For each year 2001-2009, you read the number of books in the last digit for that year. For example, read 9 books that are published in 2009, 8 books published in 2008, 7 books published in 2007, etc. The best part is this challenge is retroactive. You can count books that you read after August 8, 2008. The challenge ends on September 9, 2009.
