Reading Resolutions ~ Progress Report #1

Every two months, Jenny at Jenny Loves to Read, is asking participants to check-in with how we are doing with our goals.

My 2010 Reading Goals:

1.  Read 144 books in 2010.
I’m doing well with this goal.  So far, I’ve read 31 books.  I’m ahead of schedule!

2. Write reviews for 80% of the books I read in 2010.
Out of 31 books read, I’ve written 19 reviews which is 60%.

3.  Read at least 75 books from my shelves.
I’m hardly making any progress on this goal.  Out of the 31 books I’ve read, 3 are my own books.  Sadly to say, goal #5 is preventing me from doing this.

4.  Complete 80% of the challenges I signed up for in 2010.
I’m doing well with challenges so far.  I feel that I’m at a good pace.  Of course it’s still early though!

5.  Limit the number of library books I have checked out at one time.
Um…. yeah…. not doing well with this goal AT ALL!!  With all the 2010 releases arriving on the shelves, holds coming in, it’s really, really, really, hard for me to stop checking out books!  I know, I know… excuses!!

2010 Reading Resolutions Challenge

Jenny at Jenny Loves to Read is hosting her first reading challenge. The 2010 Reading Resolutions Challenge. She writes:

As the name implies, 2010 Reading Resolutions Challenge, it’s basically new year’s resolutions for my reading. They can be anything you would like to accomplish in the coming year in the realm of reading, book blogging, or perhaps personal growth.

Guidelines:

  • Create your personal reading resolutions for the upcoming year in a post and link to it to the post about the challenge. If you don’t have a blog, that’s cool too. Post your resolutions and updates in the comments of the post about the challenge.
  • Get started on your resolutions! Once every 2 months, starting on February 15th, Jenny will have a post to check-in and see how everyone is doing. Kind of as a reminder to you to check your own progress.
  • There is no pressure or consequences with this challenge…Jenny views it as a personal growth sort of challenge.
